Season 1 of Lip Sync Battle Shorties was officially ordered on March 2, 2017 by Nickelodeon and Viacom.[1]
On August 1, 2017, it was revealed that Nick Cannon would host the series, with JoJo Siwa revealed to become the co-host of the series.[2]
On October 4, 2017, Nickelodeon revealed that the premiere of the series would be October 15, 2017, and with this being a halloween special.[3]
